Econo Lodge Watertown

For a bit of local history, visit Mellette House, the home of South Dakota’s first governor, Arthur Calvin Mellette, built in 1885. For some outdoor recreation, drive about 10 miles southwest of the hotel to the Pelican Lake Recreation Area for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing in the wintertime. In the spring and fall, migrating birds pass through the area for some good spotting. Speaking of wildlife, the artwork of renowned wildlife artist Terry Redlin is on display at the Redlin Art Center, less than 2 miles east of the hotel. Expend some extra energy at the Watertown Family Aquatic Center with its 3 pools and 550-foot Lazy River, which is less than 2 miles to the west of the hotel.
