The Quality Inn™ The George Hotel Ballarat offers luxurious and stylish accommodation – on historic Lydiard Street North, in central Ballarat. The hotel was established in 1854 and was Ballarat’s second licensed hotel. It has also played a key part in the city of Ballarat’s social history when, in 1854, troops met in the dining room to plan the siege of the Eureka Stockade. The dramatic battle between gold miners and the Government forces at Ballarat can be seen at Sovereign Hill’s ‘Blood on the Southern Cross’, sound and light show each evening.
